Visit from NWP Drone Unit

At our recent training evening we were treated to a visit and flying demonstration from the NWP Drone Unit. The NWP Officers explained the capabilities of their drones, which helps us to understand how we can best work together.

We often work alongside the drone team on various tasks, but particularly missing person searches, where their ability to rapidly scan areas both visually and using heat detecting cameras helps to speed up the location of people.

They can also provide 100% up to date aerial photos which helps with search planning.
