CALLOUT 33/23: Misplaced walkers in the Berwyn Mountains

Our busy spell continues. This time the call was from Dyfed-Powys Police who earlier today asked us to assist some misplaced walkers. They had started a walk from Pystyll Rhaeadr but couldn't find their way back.

A quick bit of "phone wizardry" and our First Responder was able to identify that they could easily reach a road. But sadly not near where they started.

They got down safely off the hill and are arranging a taxi back to their start point, none the worse for their unexpected adventure!

Please don't judge...no one sets out expecting to get lost. People with little experience can be surprised at how hard it is to find your way on moorland, even in good weather.

If you want to find out more information on how to get the most out of your day in the mountains/countryside, or at the coast, see the AdventureSmart website.

Please share this post so as many people as possible can see the AdventureSmart messages.

Finally, as a charity, we rely on donations to keep the team functioning.

See https://www.newsar.org.uk/donate for how you can help.
