National Party Leaders Course

Over the weekend NEWSAR hosted the Mountain Rescue England and Wales national Party Leaders course.

Delegates from MREW teams as far apart as West Cornwall to Northumberland came together to learn specific skills relating to the effective management of small groups of search and rescue personnel.

This includes; how to organise the roles in a party (nav/comms/casualty care); dealing with distressed informants or relative at what is likely to be a sudden traumatic incident; considerations for evidence preservation and much much more.

The MREW CEO Mike Park came along as a delegate to find out why this course is so highly regarded and always oversubscribed.

We had one of our own team members attending too!

Thanks to the organisers, instructors and all the volunteer casualties, many of which are NEWSAR Supporters
