CALLOUT: Lone walker near Lake Vyrnwy
CALLOUT: This afternoon North Wales Police asked us to assist a lone female walker in the remote and rarely walked hills between Bala and Lake Vyrnwy/Llyn Efyrnwy. We also called our neighbours at Aberdyfi Search & Rescue Team who are almost the same distance away so they could stand by to assist.
The walker was unable to make effective progress following an extensive day out. We used some phone technology to confirm her location. Due to the time it would take to reach her by road our First Responder encouraged her to continue to try to make some progress so she didn’t get any colder. Four team members then went in one Landrover to intercept her, while our First Responder remained in contact by phone, confirming her location periodically.
Once the team members located her she was given a check over by one of our Casualty Carers. She was then able to drive herself home.
Nice sunset!
