On the afternoon of 23rd May we were contacted by North Wales Police regarding a paraglider accident near the summit of Moel Yr Accre. The casualty had sustained a lower leg injury and required assistance off the hill.
Welsh Ambulance Service crews were already on scene providing casualty care on our arrival.
The terrain proved extremely difficult, with dense gorse making access and extraction challenging. Using bush knives, team members had to cut a route through the gorse so the casualty could be safely extracted. Due to the steep incline, the team also set up a basic rope system to assist with the evacuation. Once access was established, the casualty was stretchered to Helimed for onward transfer to hospital.
Thanks to all involved for another excellent multi-agency effort in challenging terrain.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery!
