On Sunday 2nd August, the team was called to two separate incidents involving mountain bikers in the Llandegla area.

The first callout was to a lady who had sustained facial and arm injuries following a fall. Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust was already on scene treating the casualty and requested assistance with the evacuation.

Team members quickly deployed, transferring the casualty onto a stretcher before using the stretcher wheel to transport her to the waiting ambulance for onward travel to hospital.

Later that afternoon, the team was requested by North Wales Police to assist a second mountain biker who had injured his arm following a fall. After assessing and treating the casualty on scene, team members assisted him into one of the team's landrovers and transported him to the rendezvous point, where a waiting ambulance took him to hospital for onward treatment.

Having seen the team responding to the earlier incident, the casualty's friend knew exactly who to call for assistance, helping to ensure his friend received the care he needed as quickly as possible.

A big thank you to all the team members who responded to both incidents. It was another excellent example of teamwork, professionalism and the close working relationship between NEWSAR, WAST and North Wales Police.

We wish both casualties a full and speedy recovery.
