Downloading… better communications in remote areas.

We’re pleased to share that we’ve recently purchased a new Starlink system for our Communications Vehicle.

Operating across the remote and rural areas we cover can often mean limited or unreliable mobile signal, which can make on-scene communications and digital mapping more difficult during incidents.

The addition of Starlink will help provide a more reliable internet connection for the computers and systems within the vehicle, supporting incident management, mapping, search planning and communication between teams on the hill and control.

Having dependable connectivity in challenging locations is becoming increasingly important in modern search and rescue operations, and this upgrade will help us continue to respond as effectively and efficiently as possible when needed.
