Emergency Services Day 2026

Today, on 9 September, we join organisations across the UK in marking Emergency Services Day 999 Day.

It’s an opportunity to recognise the incredible work carried out every day by those serving across our emergency services often in difficult, unpredictable and challenging conditions.

At North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR), our volunteer team is proud to work alongside and support our emergency service partners when called upon, helping search for and rescue people who are lost, missing, injured or in need of assistance across North East Wales and beyond.

Today we say thank you to everyone who serves whether that’s in the Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, Coastguard, Mountain Rescue, Search and Rescue or the many other organisations and volunteers who form part of the wider emergency response community.

And, of course, a huge thank you to the families, employers and supporters who make it possible for so many people to answer the call when needed.

To everyone behind the uniform, radio, pager and 999 call thank you.
