Tom Furey - ex team member sadly killed in accident

Many members of NEWSAR, past and present, served alongside Tom when he was a member of the team from 2010 to 2014.

We remember a bright, cheerful and capable young man who went on to become an instructor, who then passed on his skills to so many people.

Above all he was loved by Katie and his family. Our thoughts are with them at this time.

We thank our fellow Search and Rescue colleagues Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation and the Coastguard Helicopter crew, who tried so valiantly to save him.
