1st June

Volunteers Week runs from the 1st to the 12th June and this year we would like to introduce you to some of our volunteers who give their time free of charge to help people lost or injured in the mountains / hills or in distress in our community.

First up is Mark P:

Aged 49 and two thirds

Works as an International Man of Mystery / Business Manager

Has been a member of NEWSAR since 1996

Joined NEWSAR after he had been offered a big job opportunity in the South East.  He went for a run up Moel Famau to have a think, met the team who were out fundraising by making tea and coffee and realised that he could never move away from North Wales so he joined NEWSAR instead!

Has had some good and experiences with NEWSAR. Some great jobs over the years, with happy outcomes. Meeting some great colleagues who are now firm friends – and friends who have become colleagues. Watching the team grow and develop over 20 years however is probably the best.

One non-NEWSAR fact about Mark is that he used to be 6ft before he did water rescue and he’s a slalom taxi.
