CALLOUT: Group stuck in gully

We were called to Wepre Park by NWP yesterday afternoon to assist a group of 3 adults and 5 children.  They were at the bottom of a steep gully that, due the rain, had become very slippy which resulted in them coming to a point where they were no longer able to go either up or down.

Due to the steep terrain, we used two separate belay systems to raise all of the family to the top, luckily none the worse for wear.

Over 600m of rope and 2 technical kits were used in the extraction, which once back at base had to be washed by hand - it was one muddy job!

Please remember that our British summer is very unpredictable and make sure you take extra layers and waterproofs. Our group had become very wet and cold.
