End of an era

North East Wales Search and Rescue officially marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter.

After 12 years leading the team, Chris G has stepped down as Team Leader, handing the reins over to Mike J.

Over a decade leading a voluntary search and rescue team is no small commitment. Countless callouts, difficult decisions, training nights, unseen hours behind the scenes, and always putting the team and the community first.

Chris has played a huge part in shaping NEWSAR into the team it is today, and everyone involved with the team knows the level of dedication that role takes. Thank you Chris for everything over the last 12 years.

At the same time, we now look forward to the future under Mike’s leadership as he takes on the role of Team Leader.

Mike has already been a huge part of the team for many years, and the timing feels especially fitting as, just last week, he reached an incredible milestone of attending 1,000 callouts with the team.

An achievement that reflects years of commitment, sacrifice, professionalism, and service to the community.

A huge moment for NEWSAR. One chapter closes, another begins.
